Out of Mission for a while
I have missed this blog greatly, I have been sick with a super bad Lupus flare up and trying to work a full time job in between. I was also diagnosed with Stage 1 renal failure and trying to get back in the swing of things. I hope you all are having a great Friday! Are you all ready for Christmas? Have you finished your shopping? I still have tons to do and need to get moving!

Mommy and Me time.....Pumpkin Spice Latte
So my 63 year old mother and I spent the day yesterday at the Dallas Arboretum enjoying the lush gardens and beautiful weather. It was humid but not as hot as it has been lately. We enjoyed the quality time together as well as the fresh smell of the beautiful flowers and plants. I was going crazy with my camera wanting to take a picture of everything. My mother was checking her knowledge to see how many plants and flowers the could name. It was very peaceful and not crowded at all but I just wish the gardens were a little larger. Here are some pictures I would like to share...

How is your weather today? It is dark and rainy here in Plano Texas! Perfect weather to watch a good movie and do some baking. I also found out that my favorite Pumpkin Spice Latte is back at Starbucks and I could not be any happier!! Any one else have a favorite coffee or tea that you would like to recommend? Have a great Thursday!!!

Target.com anyone or how about food!
I LOVE Target but have to say I am very upset with them right now. Three weeks ago I ordered two pairs of shoes from them online for my nine year old son. They are a certain hard to find brand made by a professional skate boarder and I ordered 2 pairs in a size 3. Well I get the first 2 pairs by UPS and they are the wrong size- they sent both of them in size 1 but the receipt in the package shoes size 3. I then call them and they apologize for the mix up and UPS 2 day service me out another 2 pairs of shoes which I got yesterday. LOW AND BEHOLD they did it AGAIN???!!!!!!! They sent me 2 pairs of size 1 with the receipt once again showing a size 3. This time I call and asl for a manager- here we are 5 days before school starts and I have 2 more pairs of shoes with the wrong size. The manager checks his system and finds that the shoes in size 3 for both is OUT OF STOCK so he then goes on to say that they must of just sent the size 1 in place of them. WELL hello they are 2 sizes too small and do not fit my son- on the receipt it shows my name, phone number, and email address so WHY couldn't they have called me to let me know it was now out of stock instead of sending me shoes 2 sizes too small twice! Anyways they just gave me a refund of the shoes and now I have to go shopping again to find shoes for my sonfor school... VERY BAD SERVICE!

Shopping anyone?
The count down begins just 17 days until the kids go back to school. Summer has been HOT, fun and nice but WAY TOO FAST! The stores are having good sales and time to hit them up for some good deals. Going to check out the malls and outlets. Imagine buying shoes for 3 kids- that is a house payment right there! We pretty much have the school supplies out of the way just need to take Sierra to get 3 immunizations and Patrick to get 2- OUCH!
I am going to work on my cook book and do some more baking this weekend. I am determined to try at least 2 new dishes and desserts each week.

A cook book or art anyone?
Well as I have said before I am making a family cook book to share my multicultural family recipes. I am excited to get it going and look forward to giving it away as Christmas gifts. Here is what the cover will look like
Have a great Monday!!!
We cook many different types of food from all backgrounds and enjoy
sitting at the table talking to each other while we enjoy a good meal.

Here are some more art projects I made around the house, this room is my 2nd living room and dining room- we use it as a lounge area
I made the black piece with the mirrors on it
I painted the red canvas art piece and made the red pendant lights
I painted the 2 art pieces in this picture

I came across a new room air spray by glade that is limitied edition for fall called "Cashmere Woods", and it smells so good and is so addicting. It is very sweet, calming and vibrant has anyone else tried it yet?Have a great Monday!!!

Did someone say crafts?
The first day of August and I can't believe how fast it has arrived. The weather is still in the 100s and the kids start school in 3 weeks. I think I am going to find some projects to work on around the house but thought I would share this one of a modern silver mirror that I made. I have made 2 of them, the first one was "practice" and I made it out of magazines pages, glue, a round mirror, and silver spray paint. Here are a few pictures of the practice one I made out of magazine pages.
and here it is on my wall holding up fine!
Here is the one I made out of wooden dowels, glue, hot glue, round mirror, spray paint, and small piece of flat round wood for back of mirror- I put it above my fireplace in my family room
I truly enjoy making crafts, making art and modern home decor and have many more to share and many more to try out. Please feel free to share you ideas and art/crafts with me!

Photography- my life
Photography Photography Photography, I do not think I could survive without my camera. The commercial says "Visa- don't leave home without it"; well I will never leave home without my camera. I have two more families to photograph next week and look forward to it. There is nothing like being able to capture the beauty of a family. Check out my web site for more beautiful work

Photography is a passion of mine that I have had for years even before I had children. I just love being able to look at something simple and seeing the beauty in it that others do not see. Some of the best art is made from blowing up photography and putting it on canvas or in frames. It is a wonderful way to look back in time and remember those breath taking moments or remember those loved ones that are no longer with us.
